The Beginning

Paris based, Sharon Kodan founded her demi-fine jewellery brand while pursuing her Masters of Luxury and fashion studies at ESMOD, Paris.  Having spent her early years growing up in India, Sharon immersed herself in the rich, vibrant and colourful Indian culture. An imagination of a golden heritage influenced by the bedtime stories of history of Akbar and other Great Indian Maharajas her parents used to recite to her as a child. Her family’s love for gold, her mother’s transcended gold heirlooms and her aunt’s 18th century trunk of royal jewellery that gave her a sense of nostalgia and became her source of inspiration for starting her first jewellery line.

‘Mamour’ is a symbol of eternal love towards her mother as she secretly reveals the meaning of ‘Mamour’ - ‘Ma’ in Hindi means Mother and ‘Amour’ in french means love. The essence of Mamour was first introduced to her at the age of 7 by her mother when she was bullied in school. Her mother instilled in her the spirit of being authentic, free, daring and unapologetically in love with yourself.

'M'‘Mamour’ is a symbol of eternal love towards her mother as she secretly reveals the meaning of ‘Mamour’ - ‘Ma’ in Hindi means Mother and ‘Amour’ in french means love. The essence of Mamour was first introduced to her at the age of 7 by her mother when she was bullied in school. Her mother instilled in her the values and belief of being authentic, free, daring and unapologetically in love with yourself.
After moving to Paris, Sharon was very inspired by the french spirit and decided to start her demi-fine jewellery brand in Paris. The experience of art, history and cultures has greatly influenced and inspired the journey of Mamour.

Sharon sourced suppliers and manufacturers for a year in Europe and India that were coherent with her jewellery’s values - timeless in style and sustainable in nature. Sharon’s philosophy is to find the right balance between art, modernity and a link to the past which is reflected in her designs in the first Mamour collections - The Jaipur Dynasty collection and the Maharaja Gold Collection. She likes to immerse herself in nostalgia of a historical era of the past and takes her inspiration by living that era in her own way and translating those rich experiences in her designs and collections.

At the heart of Mamour jewellery lies a love for celebrating freedom, art, cultures, nostalgic decades, fashion and much loved classics which is emphasized through use of links, gold chains colourful stones and design purity, all created to last. Mamour Paris jewellery celebrates global craftsmanship and is sustainably, responsibly and ethically handcrafted in France, Italy and India.

Sharon wanted to create a brand that is an eccentric mix of an exuberant, dreamy and nostalgic era firmly rooted in history, art, literature and travel – that tells a story of freedom and fun, chic and daring women, royal dynasties, vibrant art, colourful culture, magnificent architectures and passionate adventures. She is always interested in collaborating with other writers, designers and artists.
